Your Pitch

I generally do not believe that painless interoperability is worth the loss of expressivity. I have no problem with various forms of HTML with microformats, or RDF/RDFA, as outputs but tend to lean towards believing that the TEI has multiple ways of doing things and grants people freedoms because this is necessary for representing the aspects of texts that people want to study or record that exist in reality.
